Ege University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Bioengineering started to provide undergraduate education in 2000-2001. In 2003-2004, the first bioengineering diplomas were awarded to the students who had qualified to graduate.
In the year 2005, a very prestigious grant was acquired from the EU FP6 program in the field of “Integrating and Strengthening the European Research Area”.
In 2012, it organized the first Bioengineering Summit Meeting in Turkey.
The Bioengineering Department, which was previously located in the Ege University EBİLTEM building, moved to its new building in January 2017, again located on the Ege University campus, with a surface area of 10 thousand square meters.
From May 1, 2021 to September 30, 2026, MÜDEK Accreditation Certificate and EUR-ACE Label Certificate were received for 5 years.
