BIO-ACE 

The main mission of BIO-ACE was to reinforce the science and technology potential of Ege University in the field of Bioengineering and Biotechnology by supporting and mobilising its human and material resources, disseminating scientific information and results of research through its network of EU, MS and ACC’s, consequently improving the region’s responses to socio-economic needs. BIO-ACE has served regional and national Bioengineering/ Biotechnology research and education as a Centre of Excellence with an international recognition.

BIO-ACE has also tried to increase the critical mass of scientific personnel in Biotechnology/Bioengineering and consequently promote the impact of these modern technologies and techniques on society.  It has provided a platform for contacts and liaison between academia and the industrial sector at national and international levels.  These contacts have also directly contributed to national science and technology excellence in Turkey. Scientists possessing higher technological know-how became more competent to produce eligible research projects with the right partners to the Framework Programmes.  This has improved the science and technology capabilities of the BIO-ACE group, enhancing its socio-economic impact.
